16" sport tires for GPR

Anyone have a clue on how to find decent sport tires for a GPR with 16s?

They are tiny - 90/90-16 front, 120/80-16 rear. I have Avon Vipers on it now, but they are too big, not real grippy, and old.

I'm not finding much in a sport tire.

Thanks!

As an update, I have found a few options, but no 90/90 - 16s -

Bridgestone Battlax BT46F
100/90 - 16
120/80 - 16

Pirelli Angel
100/80 - 16
120/80 - 16

Mitas Touring Force SC
100/80 - 16
120/80 - 16

I'm probably going with the Mitas SCs. They are significantly less expensive than the others. I do like the 80-series profile better than the 90, and a 100 will fit. I have a 100/90 Avon Viper on there now - but it looks too tall. The 80 would be shorter.

I spoke with a company that will be ordering Mitas tires soon (sometime around 4/26).

I feel your pain. The only 90/80 - 17 I can find is the Michelin. And Im not super excited about its feel.

I suspect the sidewall profile is different than ours but inch measured moped racing tires might be an option. It gives us more options on compound at least.

90/90 - 2.75/3.0
100/90 - 4.25/4.50
120/90 - 4.25/4.50
120/80 - 4.25/4.50

* If ToroToro is around this should be a triggering post. He knows a LOT more about the GPR tire situation that I. And has a better understanding of tire profile on performance and handling.

There used to be more options.

Mitas made sport tires in 16" that ToraTora had on one of his bikes, I think, but they are no longer in production.

He actually switched one of his GPRs from 16s to 17s to get better tire choice, among other things.

I'm still waiting for a gasket set from Treats. It's been almost a year.

Yes there use to be a lot more options, and there should still be for the 17" wheels if you can find them. That's what I ended up on my bikes.

I don't currently remember the numbers, but I think I made a post about tires for the 16" wheels

Yes, profiles

I did look around on Treats and EasyParts, but didn't find anything. But there could be something, however I've run out of time to look further. Apologies.

Google gave me this information

A metric 120/80-16 tire roughly converts to a 4.25/4.50-16 tire.

Thanks tora!

Good to hear from you!

It looks like the choices may be Mitas Touring Force and a Bridgestone BT.

There doesn't seem to be any 90/90-16 fronts out there at all, just 100/80. Rears are the correct 120/80-16s.

On a side note - what have you been up to, what are you riding, and where are you living?

Thanks.
