That's one of the rabbit hole questions. The short answer is no—the long answer is of course yes, but with a lot of work such that for most folks they wouldn't even attempt it.

Yes a two stroke engine could be fitted into the bike because, well the offer it that way, but the expense to convert wouldn't be worth it. Better to just source one of the two strokes.

AF-1 had almost worked out importing these (the Aprilia version) bikes to the States. If a bunch of the Aprilia dealers got together they could probably pull it off. The bikes pass our current laws/regulations.

Another option would be to contact CRC. The folks that import Zongshen 250cc 4T adventure bikes, and ask if they could bring in one of these bikes. They might have a way to do it, but it would be the four stroke version.

Basically if you want something bad enough you can find a way, but it usually isn't worth all the effort you'd have to go through to do it.
