KTM 390 Duke, a popular naked motorcycle undoubtedly was one of the highlights for the year 2017 that was rolled out by the Austrian bike-maker under Bajaj Auto’s umbrella in India. The naked motorcycle from KTM has now gone on to bag the most prestigious award of Indian Motorcycle Of The Year (IMOTY) 2018 at the event held in New Delhi on Wednesday. Moreover, 12 motorcycles were finalized for the 10th edition of IMOTY from the 20 motorcycle models been launched last year in the domestic market.

These motorcycles models included Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Hero Glamour 125, Suzuki Intruder 150, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Bajaj Dominar 400, Harley-Davidson Street Rod, Triumph Street Triple RS, Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin, Yamaha FZ25, Benelli 302R, MV Agusta Brutale 800 and ofcourse KTM 390 Duke.

The top 3 finalists that fought for the ultimate award were KTM 390 Duke, Yamaha FZ25 and Triumph Street Triple RS. However, the naked motorcycle from KTM topped the chart with a huge margin of 30 points whereas the Yamaha FZ25 stood as first runner up with 77 points and Triumph Street Triple RS scored 68 points for the second runner-up. The motorcycles were shortlisted on the basis of various parameters such as price, fuel economy, performance, safety, comfort, practicality, value for money, styling, aptness for Indian roads and technical innovation.

Launched earlier this year in February, the new 2017 KTM 390 Duke is definitely the one of the most appealing street fighters in the market today which flaunts crisp body sections, chiselled fuel tank and tempting looks. Powering the IMOTY 2018 award winner is a 373.2cc, single-cylinder unit which is tuned to make 44bhp of maximum power. The 2017 model is loaded with more features like ride-by-wire throttle, an optional MY RIDE multimedia interface, standard ABS, full TFT dashboard and much more.
