GPR Camp: Replica Racers

Here's another great one from Japan during their bike boom. Even though these videos are predominately Honda bikes I really have to give Honda some blame for the end of this Replica Racer phase. Their systematic annihilation of the two stroke took a heavy toll on the affordable good bikes. This ended up pushing the bike scene to horrible abominations like the ビクスク (bikusoku) (believe me when I tell you that you don't want to search that, but I know you will).

YouTube in their infinite Red Vision decided to kill the music on the original posting of this video. They re-uploaded it without the "offending" music, but still with the bike sounds. I've chosen to link that version. Did you guys get your Neko Mimi Helmet yet?

Not that I'm advising this sort of thing, but I sure did notice it in this video!

They talk about the biker boom in Japan, the movie Bari Bari Densetsu, and how dangerous it was to ride a bike in this fashion during the 80's in Japan. Those numbers are how many people died. Ouch!

Yup that's what the Japanese call our bikes, and during their bike boom in the late 80's through the 90's before Honda killed off the two-stroke life over there was amazing. Here in the States they haven't outlawed us two-stroke replica racers because well we are such small numbers we fly under the radar!

Here is part two of the Winding Riders--imagine a scene like this here in the States.

This one starts off with a solo 4T spotlight, but it quickly becomes predominantly 2T at a bit over a minute into the video. The area in which they are riding is very similar to where we ride the Derbi De Mayo.
