RS50 super score: Reeds and Intakes.

There are a lot of ways to go with these parts. Some intakes come with reeds making the choice easy. I'll start with those. They are different depending on what carburetor you choose. The 21s or the 24s. For me today I would probably go with the Top intake and the Stage6 V-Force reed block. It's the best combination, and is a very reasonable price. The top Reed block is just as reasonable, but it's not black. There are other reeds and intakes. I've not included them because they, for the most part are not worth considering since these ones below are available.

Malossi makes a nice intake kit. Treats tends to carry them in both sizes. I have these on a number of my bikes in both sizes. For
21mm, and for the
24mm carbs. You can get the reeds separately, but I don't think they sell the intake by itself.
Polini makes a nice intake manifold that is very similar.
21mm,
24mm carbs.
Top makes an intake that is also very similar, however it comes in black, and the price is very nice.
PWK,
TM24 carbs.
For reeds there are lots of options. The Malossi kit is nice because then you have decent reeds with it. If you want something that's a step up there are the V-Force style reeds.
Stage6 makes a
basic reed block, and a
V-Force style block.
The
Malossi read block, and the
Malossi MHR Reed block (note: it's not a V-Force style).
The
Top Performances Reed block—similar to others, but in yellow.
And then there is an actual
V Force 3 for the KX 85. These will work on the bike, although they may take some fitting. Being a real V-Force they cost almost three times as much.

Here's an example of the
Polini style choke lever placement. This one is on a Derbi Senda, but you'll get the idea.

Oops! Sorry, I accidentally posted kits for a Derbi not RS 50. Let's try this again.
RS50 engine mounts

A bunch of info on the engine mounts/cradle action.
► Show Spoiler
There is the front top mount on the engine cradle.
There are two engine mounts that aren’t on the cradle. The top rear which is on the subframe.
And the bottom rear which is on the lower unit (#7 in the image).
For
springs Treats will have something. You just have to do a measurement, and then figure out which one to order.
Some subframe photos from the net.

Here's a photo of the bike with the
Gila kit from Treats. With it we are running a
21mm CP carb, the
Malossi intake/reed kit, and the
Malossi clutch springs. It all runs very nice, even with the stock pipe. This bike didn't come with an air box so we got the Malossi big red filter. All the parts came from Treats, and it's all working quite nicely.
Eventually we'll be installing this
Doppler crank with upgraded bearings, but for now we are running the stock unit, because there wasn't enough time to do all the work.
