Restoration Derbi GPR 50 R . France project

Post by RemS » Sun Apr 29, 2018 10:44 am

Hi everybody
some of you know me from the forum "aprilia forum". I had presented two of my machines there. APRILIA RS 50 1998 harada edition. and APRILIA RS 50 1999 racing replica harada with engine 100cc 2fast ...

Today, I present you the last one that will be restored!

a GILERA GP 50, which will become a DERBI GPR 50 R. (2001 blue model)

yes, I prefer the look of the derbi. I already have a frame with VIN DERBI number ...

In addition, I am DERBI dealer in FRANCE.

I will try to make you discover the stages of this restoration

Hey Rems,

Sweet bike. It's too bad I don't have a nice set of blues to trade you. I have a number of blue parts, but they all have issues. I like the Gilera livery. Although the Derbi/Cagiva tail light is more attractive. Anyway, based on your previous work I look forward to seeing what you do with this bike.

I have all of those, but not in perfect condition. When I get back to the States I could take photos of what I have, but based on what I’ve seen from your work they are probably not good enough.

What kind of exhaust did you attach to the gilera because it isn´t the original exhaust right?

I have to say that Gilera is such a good looking, unique, complete (except the one fairing side), and rare bike, and the GPR that you are interested in is one of the most available liveries that it would be a shame to change the bike.

Yes it's true that this bike is rarer than a DERBI.
But, all the carenages are broken, without exception!
Then, I prefer DERBI models. The GILERA does not suit me, I do not find it pretty.

And, in addition, I am a dealer DERBI in France ;)
