The Red Power: Too Rich for My Blood

Post by toratora » Tue Jul 26, 2016 6:39 pm

I've been having a blast running my errands on the Malossi bike. But it does seem to be a bit rich as it takes it quite a while to get properly on the pipe. I'm going to have to try re-jetting it. The current jetting is that for which was employed when the 21 PHBG was on a previous bike—before I became hip to the PWK carbs—which ended up on most of my bikes. :P I also think that maybe that inexpensive manifold on the bike is restricting it a bit. It would be nice to put a Malossi intake manifold on the Molissi bikes.

The Red Power: After the Days of Summer

Post by toratora » Sat Dec 10, 2016 6:39 pm

After the Days of Summer ride I took a look at the throttle. MT Mike has stated that he thought it had issues. Sure enough the cable was nearly worn out.

The Red Power: Rich too Rich

Post by toratora » Sat Dec 10, 2016 10:39 pm

The Malossi bike was running a bit rich so I investigated with the bore camera. This was with a Del 21 running an 93 MJ. There's some char, but most of it has been washed off. There should be a lot more char with some wash around the A, B, and C ports.

Nice photo! :lover:

A 2002 Second Edition with first edition front plastics? They don't just bolt on either. What happen to the stock setup? You didn't like having a Lorenzo livery? ;)

It's an '03 VIN with, I think, '01 bodywork.

I got the '03 rolling chassis completely disassembled in boxes, but no bodywork.

The '01 plastics were an ebay buy. You're right; took some head scratching to get them to fit!
